Orthopedics and Traumatology

The Department of Orthopedic Traumatology, which is one of the very wide sections of medicine, has many special branches in its own. Each of these branches requires separate features, techniques and experiences. In Gazi Hospital, orthopedics and traumatology department are built on the basis of these thoughts.

Trauma; mostly surprises us occurring with falls, sports injuries, work accidents or traffic accidents. Depending on the severity of the trauma, damage can range from simple soft tissue contusions to fragmented fractures in large bones. Treating a severely traumatized patient requires good equipment, serious organization and team work. The trauma center needs to be ready at all times as it is not known when the trauma patient will arrive. Gazi Hospital has at least one orthopedic and traumatology specialist for this purpose for 24 hours. After the trauma patient is accepted and the first intervention is performed by this specialist, radical treatment is performed by the orthopedic trauma subspecialist as soon as possible.

Approaches and surgical methods in the treatment of fractures are constantly being renewed. In parallel with technological developments, better, more modern and more harmless treatment methods and equipments are being developed. The aim is to return the patient to daily life as soon as possible without any problems.
