Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure performed to increase the breast size of women. This procedure is preferred in cases where the breasts lose volume due to congenitally small breast sizes or factors such as aging, weight loss or pregnancy. Breast augmentation can increase a person's self-confidence and provide a fuller, younger-looking breast appearance.

Breast augmentation is usually performed using silicone gel or saline solution filled breast prostheses. Prostheses can be placed under the mammary gland or under the breast muscle. The place of the incision where the prostheses will be placed may vary according to the breast size of the person, the structure of the chest wall and the preferences of the person.

Breast augmentation is usually performed under general anesthesia and the duration of the procedure can vary between 1-2 hours. The healing process may also vary depending on the condition of the person and the extent of the procedure. After the procedure, the patient may need to rest for a few days and avoid physical activities. In addition, it may be recommended to wear a support bra to be used with breast prostheses after the procedure. The full recovery process can take several weeks to several months.

Breast augmentation is usually permanent, but prostheses may need to be replaced due to aging or trauma. In addition, after breast augmentation, regular breast examinations and healthy breast care are recommended.
