Rhinoplasty

Nose aesthetics (rhinoplasty) is a surgical procedure to change the shape and size of the nose. It is often desired to change the shape of the nose due to congenital or post-traumatic disorders, breathing difficulties or other aesthetic concerns.

Rhinoplasty is usually performed under local or general anesthesia. During the procedure, the nasal bones and cartilage tissues are reshaped or removed. In addition, the nostrils can be changed and the tip of the nose is corrected.

The recovery process after the procedure may vary depending on the general health condition of the person, the post-procedure care and the rhinoplasty method applied. During the first few days, swelling and bruises may be seen around the nose, and during this time, pain, aches and nasal congestion may also be experienced. When the healing process is completed, the person can have a more symmetrical and aesthetically attractive nose.

Rhinoplasty can have different techniques. The most commonly used techniques are:

Closed Rhinoplasty: It is a surgical method performed through the nostrils and provides a scarless recovery.

Open Rhinoplasty: It is done with an incision between the nostrils and provides greater access.

Reconstructive Rhinoplasty: It is a technique used to reconstruct the nose of people who have lost their nose shape and function.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty: It is a technique used to change the shape of the nose using nasal filling, botox or other injectable materials.

Which rhinoplasty technique to use may vary depending on the person's nose structure, aesthetic concerns and purpose. The rhinoplasty procedure should be evaluated by a plastic surgeon and the most appropriate technique should be determined.
