Anesthesia and Intensive Care

Gazi Hospital Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation deals with pre-intervention medical evaluation in all age groups for all kinds of surgical interventions within the patient care and treatment services, anesthesia application with pain treatment during and after the intervention.

The service includes pre-interventional medical evaluation and dealing with pain and vital problems during and after intervention. Analgesia in surgical, diagnostic or therapeutic interventions, daily surgical anesthesia, painless labor, anesthesia in infants and children, brain and spinal surgery anesthesia are special interests of the department.

Our experienced team, equipped with technological infrastructure that reflects the latest progressions of science and technology, and who are experienced in the field are divided into subspecialties for anesthesia administrations for brain surgery, pediatric surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, orthopedics, vascular surgery, ear-nose-throat, urology and eye departments

 

Intensive Care

Every patient whose vital functions are impaired having life-threatening risks is defined as a critical patient. Intensive Care Units are multidisciplinary areas equipped with advanced technology that provide vital support for critical diseases 24 hours a day. In recent years, advances in technology have led to improvements in intensive care services.

Intensive care units serve as surgical intensive care, neonatal intensive care, surgical intensive care.

Gazi Hospital General Intensive Care Units are total units equipped with advanced technology and available in every hospital of the group. In every bed side, there are artificial respiratory devices and monitors suitable for all kinds of monitorizations. In addition, one dialysis machine is kept ready for use for suddenly developed renal insufficiency.

While our group intensive care units serve with young and experienced personnel, they are supported by the physicians from other specialties. All laboratory tests and imaging methods can be performed at any time of the day in the intensive care unit.

All kinds of follow-up, treatment and care services related to the patient are carried out by the staff of the departments starting from the time of admission in our units where all critically ill patients are accepted from pediatric to adult ages. Following group of patients are accepted to our units where patients meeting the acceptance criteria to general intensive care are hospitalized:

  • Patients requiring close follow-up after major surgery,
  • Patients with cerebral hemorrhage,
  • Patients with sudden paralysis,
  • Severe respiratory failure
  • Patients with severe infection,
  • Poisonings expected to disrupt the vital functions,
  • Patients having general trauma (such as head, chest, abdominal and extremity traumas)
  • Patients with nervous system disease (such as Myastenia Gravis, Guillian Barre)
  • In patients with sudden renal impairment requiring urgent dialysis
